Metis Secure Partners with Pathway Technologies

PITTSBURGH—Metis Secure has signed a distribution partnership with Pathway Technologies, a North Carolina-based security and communications technology company. Pathway Technologies now offers Metis Secure’s advanced mass notification / emergency communications systems to its commercial, industrial, government, education, retail, health care and financial services customers.

Emergency, security, and safety professionals use the Metis Secure system to rapidly alert and instruct everyone at their buildings, facilities, or campuses in a crisis situation. The system features a redundant wireless mesh network and back-up batteries, so it continues to broadcast emergency directives and transmit help calls even when a crisis takes down power and cellular, phone, and internet communications.

Pathway Technologies will distribute, install, and support the Metis Secure system for their customers in the mid-Atlantic region.

The Metis Secure system comprises wall- or pole-mounted indoor and/or outdoor Emergency Help Stations and easy-to-use Command Center software. Designated personnel use the map-based software to instantly broadcast alerts and voice instructions to targeted locations, or to an entire facility or campus during an emergency. In addition, a person in need can push the Help button at any Emergency Help Station to immediately speak with on-site security or off-site central stations. Security patrols can answer calls from their handheld radios or mobile phones.

“Metis Secure offers our customers the ability to deliver immediate, actionable emergency instructions to any or all locations at their sites, from any location onsite or off,” said Keith Frazier, CEO, Pathway Technologies, Inc. “This is a leap forward—in the past, emergency professionals had to send someone around from building to building or area to area to make PA announcements, which took a lot of time. Now, they can press a button or click a mouse from any computer, and instantly, Help Stations broadcast emergency voice instructions and sirens, flash lights, and display on-screen text directives.”

“Our partnership with Pathway Technologies is a great fit,” said Mark Kurtzrock, Metis Secure’s president and CEO. “They are very knowledgeable about advanced communications technologies, and truly understand the potential of the Metis Secure system to substantially improve emergency response at large facilities and multi-building sites.”

The Metis Secure system easily integrates with other security and life safety systems and devices, including hazardous materials detectors, IP phones, access control, PA systems, outdoor speakers, and other emergency communications layers such as desktop alerts and third-party email/text services. This enables organizations to leverage their existing technology, and enables safety, security, and emergency managers to activate multiple systems through any internet browser, using Metis Secure’s hosted Command Center software. Metis Secure systems are installed at research and industrial facilities, university campuses, commercial office buildings, large parking garages, and other public sites.
